Abstract
The present study aimed to examine the effets of MBSR on the depression, rumination and attentional biases towards negative and positive stimuli. The employed method in this study was semi-experimental with pretest and posttest and a control group. The target population included all the students with the diagnosis of major depression. Sample consisted of 30 participants selected using cnveneint sampling. BDI-II, and scale of rumination response were completed by each of the participants in a two weeks interval along with the further dot-prob task to measure negative and positive attentional biases on each participant. The Posttest includes the same masures and tasks 8 weeks later. Data are subjected to a one between (Group) and one within group factor (depression, rumination and attentional biases to positive stimuli and negative stimuli) repeated meansures design. The findings showed that except for positive bias, which showed no change, the depression, ruminative ideation, and negative bias decreased significantly. The findings are explained in line with the available literature.
